Got the shop ready to put the Bell in today. Got her in and picked up the new kmember and suspension with disc conversion in last night. I think I'll get the motor and transmission out tomorrow and maybe remove the suspension on Sunday. Super excited to get this part done and then start working on rebuilding the 440.
In order to get the motor out of my car, I had to do some cleaning and arranging. That meant that I had to remove the transmission from the 440 to store them more easily. Then we decided, my two sons and I to get the 440 on the engine stand and remove just about everything from it. Well, what we found was not encouraging. The cylinders look awful. It definitely wasn't "running when I pulled it" like the seller said.
I tried to turn the crank to get the torque converter off and it wouldn't turn. Does it look like it's worthless at this point?
Overall, what an awesome day with my two sons teaching them about engines. They loved it!
