Heres mine in my 65 Dodge coronet.
Get a custom one bent up from a chassis shop in chromoly.
it will cost a little more but the fit will be tight and nice. heres mine for comparison.

I had one shipped to me but wished I would have found someone local. The shipping was more than the kit. I wish I would have also put the down tubes through the package tray instead of where the backseat goes. It would have been easier to block off the rearseat to trunk area.

Superstock racer is point on. A custom setup in moly built by a qualified craftsman will be stronger, neater, and lighter than a generic mild steel bar. If you have a nice car, spend a little more to keep it nice.

Check the newer NHRA rule on rollbars. I think they need to be TIG welded now.

Are you sure they are not talking about Chrome Molly? I think Mild Steel can be mig'ed but molly has to be tig'ed.

I guess I was thinking Chrome Moly.

I have so many random thoughts floating around my head I can't keep them straight.:icon_scratch:

I just installed a Chris Alston chassisworks kit in my 62 Belvedere. The kit is the same one they spec for your 65. The b bar fits my car well and the materials seems to be good quality.

I am sure the fitment in my 62 is different than your 65, but it will give you an idea. I would be happy to measure out main bar measurements for you if it would help you see if it would fit your car well.

BTW, chassisworks is local to me so I didn't pay any shipping, that was a deciding factor. (also pics are from before final welding, just tacked in)

I used a Chassis works kit for my 64. It is a general kit for most all year B body. All fit well with a the usual cutting trimming notching. Where I chose to put the hoop was a very close fit where it runs next to the rear interior panels. I welded the hoop in without actually checking panels for clearance. Thought it was enough clearance... My Bad...The panels were a very tight fit. I could have easily avoided this by pulling the hoop side bars in just slightly before welding :eusa_wall: .I'm sure every car differs just slightly too. Swing out side bars are nice! Was very happy when I was done...
