Getting back into old MoPars after being gone a long time. Just picked up a 65 Satellite with a 440. It has headers and I want to go back to cast iron. What manifolds will fit and are there certain ones better than others?
The 1967-1972 HP/Magnum exhaust manifolds would work fine, but are kind of expensive. The 1962-1966 big block 4-barrel log manifolds would also work and are much cheaper. I have found that if the engine stays in the car, you may have to unbolt the motor mount and tip one side of the engine up to install the HP manifold. They are a pretty tight fit.
Max wedge manifolds fit the early Bs but, add a lot of heat to the engine compartment. Any of these can be ceramic coated to cool them down. They do make more power than the others.
