Getting ready for the rebuilt 440 and trans to go back in. Fixed all the stuff the cobbler I bought the car from messed up or just didn't do. Should be done just in time to winterize.

That is a nice HEMI Charger! One of the few cars on my list to own is a '66 HEMI 4-speed B car. The first thing to go would be the inland shifter mechanism. Getting the trans stuck is 3rd and reverse at the same time can be interesting when you power shift into third gear.
Yes, yes it can. If the shifter is worn out the third gear plate can grab the reverse plate and put them in two gears at once. If you want to argue with me don't bother. You are wrong.

well, your reasoning is wrong...the third gear plate and reverse plate are not next to each other...the 1-2 shift plate is in-between, so it's impossible to do what you are saying, but obviously you are master of all things mechanical...so I bow to your expertise even though you don't know what you are talking about....you must be a Chevy guy and never really understood the workings of a Mopar shifter
