I have an opportunity of a 383 and 727 from a 1967 Stock Eliminator car. I have a '66 Belvedere and wonder how much do I need to do to get it to look like a '67? THX

You don't have to change the appearance of the car to put a different engine and gearbox in it.

Same basic body, but there is tons of work and parts needed to make it into a 67.
The whole front clip, as in fenders, grill, headlights, bezels, and front bumper. At the rear tailpannel, taillights and bezels. The trunk lid will have to be redrilled for the correct tailpannel although it would be better to replace it with a 67. They are different. Inside the cluster bezel is different between 66 and 67. There are also different emblems and detail items inside and out. All this is to costly for a 66-67 B body in my opinion.

Are you wanting to race Stock eliminator with your car? I believe the specs are the same on a 66 and 67 383-4 bbl. So you could leave it a 66.

You can't put a 67 trunk panel on a 66 lid. The 67 is concave like the panel is. A 66 trunk is flat, the 67 panel won't go on a 66 lid

Here is a 66 car with a 67 lid and panel. Check the differences. See how much smaller the 66 light are. You will need to cut the holes on the quarter panels bigger for the 67 tail lamps.

Dash and steering column are different, too. 1967 went to larger diameter collapsible column, and notch in the bottom of 1967 dash is larger to accommodate it. '67's had wiring differences to provide emergency 4-way flashers.

The 67 was a slightly lighter car (my opinion), due to a good many metal parts being replaced with plastic, but I've never really had either weighed.

Is this a 2 door hardtop or sedan with a post?

Not really that hard to make it a 67 for NHRA racing purposes. They are not real particular on things like the dash, column, or body side trim, you can remove the body side trim. You couldn't do stuff that in the 70's when changing a car.

The part with the most work is getting the 4 headlight buckets in there. And the 66 has large headlamps, and 67 are all 4 small.

So rear is taillights, quarter extensions, trunk lid and will need to cut openings bigger and drill holes to mount the taillights.

Front is mounting headlamps and swap grille and bezels. Front bumper swap for turn signals. May be able to get by on the bumper for a short time, but hunt down a front bumper.

not so my fine fathered friend: we changed a 66 satellite to a 67 belvedere gtx /without the gtx badges, back when there was a class diff between them in AHRA...
the tail light housings Dont bolt up the same , I redrilled the holes to fit the 67`s on , the grill can be done the same way ,altho we didn't put all 4 headlights in , only 2 , (weight)...
luckily the cars were the same color of red , nobody knew any dif...

Seems like a matter of opinion. You did enough get by, whatever inspections were applicable or a inspectors lazy eye. I was trying for a more believable option. In the long run, the VIN tells the difference.

Tail lights and associated body buckets/quarter extension hsgs
trunk lid, They are very different in how the finish panel is mounted
trunk finish panel
Fenders themselves are basically the same Difference is the head lamp setup, although you might be able to modify yours to accept the 1967 style head lamp setup. Maybe ?????
grille
headlight bezels
front bumper
hood ornament is unique to there respective years if you're going that far

Interior wise ( if you're getting that specific )
its dash frame
instrument cluster
steering column
steering wheel
console plastic body
And ALL the upholstery pattern is different

I know that presently missing trim(NHRA S/SS) is not an issue. Interior just needs to look stockish. I couldn't find a '67 at any of the most recently, albeit too cold yet, cars and coffee. I just examining pics and saw the similarities of the front grille and back tail lights. Can I assume that '67 trim is pricey?

Why wouldn't you just run it as a 66?

As far as I know, the main reason to run a 67 is so you can run a 440.
