I found this at a local stealership. It's supposedly an original 15,000 original mi car. They're asking $15000 w/a 318. I have seen some modified w/ big blocks 4spds for same price on here and new paint, straight body, etc. What's it really worth in this economy. It has been on their lot for at least 3 years. There's some bubbling in the lower quarters, and the wheel well openings. here are pics:

is this not in the appropriate thread location? Who would know if $15,000 is a good price, personally I think it's inflated.

Three years?!?!?!? I would think they would take a best offer after sitting on it that long unless the owner likes having it around as a draw to get people in the door.

I think it looks amazing and if I could afford it, I would pay close to that for it.

Personal opinion- if it was a big block 4spd car, yea that would be a good price. But it being a smallblock automatic car, even with the rediculously low miles i think thats a bit high. I bought my BB 4spd for a little more than half of that- and had fresh paint, original body panels, and no rust (oklahoma car). Dont get me wrong, mines no peach, but with a few more dollars invested and a few more man hours i think it could win some shows. NADA says theyre worth a bit more if theyre original AC car, but who knows if that really translates to real world prices.

I agree. I was looking at a satellite on here that is in Chicago I think, big block 4spd, silver paint, really put together nicely for $16,000 obo. by the time I had to fix the problem areas, it's almost at $20,000 for a stock small block.

looks like a solid start! But it is a pretty stiff price.I've got original B/B 4spd car I'm wanting to sell.$6800.67s just don't bring any money no matter how nice they are! Mine is a 66 coronet 500 though.

can you send me some pics...if you have?
thanks

If you are looking that far away for a car and you really want a big block 4 speed then just pass on the local car and pay the shipping as you will be WAY ahead dollar wise if you are thinking of buying and converting it even if you paid $10K for it.

Nobody noticed the lack of chrome, indicating enough bodywork to include welding the holes closed? Also the paint on the VIN tag...

See how much filler is in the quarters to cause that bubling you described. If there's not much, I'd say they are 50% over value ($7500) If there's a lot, I'd say it's worth about $3000. Assuming the frame is good, and no other major defects.

I'd say it's likely they will never sell that car, and will end up giving it away, or donating it, so they can write off that inflated value.

I disagree on 66/67 not bringing any money.
You can buy/sell a NICE one for 15-22K, but it has to be really nice, and relatively well optioned
.
This one is not.

If you want to spend 20K, there's a nice 383 4 speed 66 down here.
It looks pretty good, but has a 67 interior.

For a cleaner 318 car, let's see if this sells...still a bit high IMO, but "make offer"

This is the real prize, wanna play "closest to the pin"?

This one's better than the OP car, for less

those are all nice cars...i am not looking to spend more than $15g's, I was merely saying that if i bought this 67, i'd be over 20 by the time it was done.

YY1,

This is good news..just gonna save my sheckles..still have to unload my 86 mustang gt convertible. to make room for my 1 car garage.

Run Forrest Run. Just from the description and pictures I think they are 8-10K over value.

That makes sense...it sits at a used car dealership on a pretty high traffic route-for 3 years.
