When looking through the grill, with the hood closed, what color should the Rad Cradle be ?

Here we go.....

The theory I'm going with is...if it is a "dark"color (black, blue, dark green...) then it's body color, but...

If it's a "light" color (white, tan, gold, red...), then the core support got painted flat black.

There's even an account that says different line workers painted the blackout diffferently, from a splash, to full coverage.

Always blacked out unless as noted above. Although dark green and blue may have been blacked out. I think only if the car is X9 black they didn't black out the support - all other colors got the quick and dirty shot of black. And none were masked but rather shot from a pit from about a 45 deg angle.

What car are we talking about? 67 Coronet in white?

I can furnish pics of original, unmolested 66 Coronet and Satellite, both Y1 med bronze.

I agree, it was varying. The spray pattern was very sharp and because of that, I think it was done with an airless sprayer.

Also one other cool thing, at least in 67 wheel wells were painted at the Los Angelos plant. Not sure it all were painted, but at least some were. I documented one.

Sorry yes, I am talking about 67 Coronet in white. I didn't realize they did a number of things, depending on the color of the car.
