Just got home and have to tell about this car I just saw.
I have heard about this car for a few years and today I got to see it.
1968 Coronet Hemi 4 spd. Blue with white bucket seats.
Original paint, original owner.
This guy (no name or location to protect his privacy) bought the car new in 68 when he was in his 20's I think he said he was 22. First car he ever bought and he still owns it. He parked it in the 70's and pulled it out in the 90's after 20 some years in the garage.
This is an UNMOLESTED HEMI R/T 4 spd!
He has every piece of paper from day one.
The first bill for insurance $20 for 6 months.
The first (and only ticket)
The car has dings, scratches and nicks.
It was his daily driver from 68 until mid 70's. He told me I don't remember what year he parked it.
Since then he had it to the Nats in Columbus 2x.
From what he told me ( I did not confirm any of this) only about 69 Coronet Hemi R/T 4 spd were made.
From some registery he was told less than 20 survive.
He is reported to be the only ORIGINAL OWNER of a 68 Coronet Hemi R/T 4 spd.
What a neat car!
I think those cars are one of the TRUEST Muscle cars every built by Mopar or any car company.
He has large books with every magazine article about 68 R/T or hemi's he could find since 1968. Book cases full of magazines, brochures and other literature.
This car may well be the best documented Hemi R/T known.
It may be the only unmolested survivor known.
Well it's not mine, I'll never sit in it let alone drive it. I just had to tell someone. My family has no clue so I won't waste my time talkin to them about it. LOL
