It wasn’t specified if it was still a 26 inch radiator. That is for a 22 inch not a 26 inch radiator..
That’s too bad, you’ll have to get the cheap looking plastic ones.My 68 has 26” radiator

No a/c, but Wont know for a while, not running yet.lol
Is it running hot or are you gonna reinstall A/C on the car?
If not you shouldn’t need a shroud then.
Absolutely! They Al came with a shroud68 charger with 440….(former a/c car with 383), currently has a fan clutch setup, no shroud.
Is the fan with clutch correct? Should there be a shroud?
I have a 68 Charger with a 383 4bbl and AC and mine has the shroud. This car now with 440, was an original 383 car WITH a/c, so it probably did have a shroud per your info.
Thanks
Yea, hoping to find another used one!I have a 68 Charger with a 383 4bbl and AC and mine has the shroud.

Just my 2 cents here, sharing a little information from Paul Herd's Restoration Guide.
While there is a bunch of information on radiators, fans, hoses and shrouds, one paragraph states, "Another difference between the 383s and the 440ci models is that all 440ci-equipped models used a fan shroud regardless of options. However, a shroud was only used with the 383s if air conditioning or the heavy-duty radiators were fitted. A one piece plastic shroud, part 2785434, was used with all but the 440 models with automatic transmission, which used a 22in core and a two-piece upper, part number 2417423, and lower, part number 2417427, shroud."
The book did talk about some models not using a shroud, but I don't think it applies to the original post.
I hope this helps, if not, it only cost me 2 cents.![]()
Rebel,Thanks for posting but just to confirm my 68, 383 4bbl Charger, without AC did not come with a shroud with my radiator?
Thanks in advance!

Rebel,
From what I'm reading you are correct, it did not come with a shroud. Also, it states that the number you show, 2898045 was used on all big block 4bbl engines mated to an automatic transmission in 1968. So according to this your Charger is an auto?
I would still be inclined to add one to your car, unless you are going for concourse oem. I always add them, figuring it surely can't hurt the cooling performance.Oops, yes l forgot to mention that my Charger is an automatic, so if mine didn't come with one, then that saved me money from having to get one.
I would have assumed all cars came with one as a safety factor.

A 69 Charger R/T/GTX/Coronet R/T 440 automatic with 22" 053 radiator should have the 130 shroud.My ‘69 GTX left the factory with a 22” radiator, no shroud and a direct drive fan…
An AC car should have a shroud.

About 20 years ago, Bill Alphin used mine to make a mold for the repop market.
