Still on the hunt for a 68 charger and after searching and reading the forums its better off to buy a complete car rather than build it which will cost me way more and time as well.

After getting the previous car inspected that i was interested in it had showed way more than what the eye sees. See below thread:

http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/advise-and-input-on-a-1968-charger.114385/

So I kept searching and looking for another 68 charger and cam across this particular charger. Its not an rt but its a rt clone in hemi orange color (its a bit different than other cars i've see maybe its lighting) with a 440 six pack and auto trans complete frame off restoration in a beautiful color. I would like to know if the previous owner is a forum member or if he documented his restoration and you've seen it somewhere else.

Here is the car :

and a video of the car :

looks in a great condition and probably will keep it as is for a while and maybe down the line replace to a manual transmission. Any input about the car is highly appreciated as you've owned these type of cars and know them well.

Thanks

Is there a way to verify if its an original 440-six pack or a normal 440 ? Also are there any differences between the two other than the 3-2 barrel carbs. In the ad it states that it is a 71 440.

Very hit or miss at that place. Some cars are nice...others, not so much.

A 440-6 never came on a 68 Charger.

That car is like putting lipstick on a pig. The right side quarter panel end cap fits like crap (due to the replacement AMD quarter panels) and most telling is the lower rear valance; the corner caps are all bondo'ed in. No wheelwell moldings. White interior, but black armrests. The inner door frames are painted red instead of white. The headrests were painted white along with the chrome bands. Trunk floor was replaced & who know's what else. Obviously, the car was a rot box.

Yes I know a 440-6 never came on a 68 its from a 71 but I liked the idea of the engine which got me interested. I've reviewed the car after seeing the body lines and as you have stated it seems that it has bondo in it and body fitment isnt great. I dont know if I can get back my deposit as he had stated its non refundable I'll try to work it out with him as all of the things you mentioned will be shown in the inspection that I ordered. I'm losing money here and there based on inspections from not so honest dealers. Do you know of a great dealer that is a straight up guy and honest that I could ask to search for a 68 charger ? As i've searched the web for weeks and couldnt find a decent charger.

Thanks

If you need to have one now, you are going to be limited to the supply that's out there now. You really need to have patience and search longer and harder.
