Just wondering how much it would cost to swap as a general figure to swap over a junkyard 5.7 Hemi Engine. I have a 318/904 in my car now. I wouldn't mind keeping the 904 in it as I plan on having John Cope or A&A Transmission go through it. On the 5.7 Hemi I plan on running no A/C or P/S since my car is like that now anyways. Also, I would plan on going to the carburetor route. I am wondering if I can just run a convential electric pump with two external fuel filters to feed the Hemi?
Also, to keep costs down I am wondering if I would loose much power running manifolds? I think I can run the Grand Cherokee manifolds on my 68 B-Body. Lastly on the cooling system can I run a mechanical fan setup from a Ram truck or can I use the cooling system from an LX Car? Thank you in advance.
Oh yeah one more thing. If I run the spacer for the transmission will the transmission remain in the same spot or will need to be moved back. Thank you in advance.

No replies yet? I often see these swaps by high end shops in the magazines. But when you read the details, it becomes a major cluster. I don't know the name of the thread, but someone on Moparts was describing their 5.7 into B Body swap. If that doesn't make you change your mind, nothing will.

I'm at work, will answer some of your questions when I get home.

Carb is no problem, but you will need something to fire it ( MSD 6 or something similar), XV Motorsports has a carb set up that will include everything you need. Any SMALL BLOCK mopar trans is a bolt in/up affair,,auto or stick. An electric pump with regulator for the carb application will be fine. Stock manifolds are fine, but when time/money allow, get some headers from TTI. Ditch the mechanical fan and go electric. The "spacer" will not mess with the trans location, all will bolt into the original spots. Get the engine adapters from TTI, isolators from Shumacher and get your project moving, and post some pics. Don't hesitate to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer them, and check out FABO, they have some guys doing the same thing you want to do. Thats pretty much it in a nut shell, not to complicated, just take your time as with any swap, and have fun doing.
