Hy guys I'm putting passenger side window glass in my R/T and am having issues. I have the new plastic channel/weather strip in on the vent side and new weather strip on the chrome trim on the rear. Problem I'm having is the window feels too tight however it will go up and down by pushing and pulling on it by hand. I attached the regulator to the glass with a NOS plastic plug lookin thing which keeps pulling out when I try to crank it up or down. Also all of the adjustment nuts are loose on the tracks

Any idea why it would be tight?

The NOS plastic plug should have aplastic pin incorporated into it that presses through . After installed it should not just fall out. Did you also replace the inner and outer whiskers? Also try lubing the front and rear window channels . I just assembled both of my front door glass with wing vents , and mine are a little tight now , but I expect them to loosen some with wear.

The guy I got the glass off of gave me two of these plugs. Do I use both somehow? It looks like one side is a stop while the other side pushes throught the lower bracket and the glass. I dont have anything else, this car also never had glass so I'm not sure what to look for.

The plastic plug, as you call it, has 2 parts for 1968, an outer piece, and a center piece. First step is to insert the outer piece. Second step is to insert the inner piece from the opposite side. The inner piece expands the outer piece, and keeps it from coming out as you roll the window up and down.

In 1969 the design changed from 2 pieces to a one piece. The later style can be used in the 1968 window.

The guy i got the glass from said the original ones worked better than the repros so bought a pair of em. Wonder if the other side is available?

Bones, I just went out and checked some new '68 style that I have in my garage. They come in what looks like 1 piece, but the inner piece is a pin that pushes into the center of larger piece. The inner piece actually pushes in from the front, not from the back, as I described earlier. Sorry for my error. I think the '68 style actually hold better than the later style.

Yep, thats what i have is a 1 piece. I was installing it from the rear, maybe that was my problem. I'll pull the regulator again and install it from the front tonight.
