68 GTX Grill molding question

Hi everyone, I need some advice about these Mopar Authorized Re-Pop grill moldings. I just bought a pair of them and unwrapped them tonight and didn't like what I saw. $185.00 and the center "Peak" of both moldings look as though they were bent around a tree! Here is a pic of my assembled grill and the two new moldings in front of it for comparison. I'd like everyone who's thinking about buying these to see what is being sold as "Identical" replacements. Am I being picky or what? I think I'll take mine apart and have them stripped and re-anodized. Any comments??? Thanks, and beware!

Yeah, the bend radius is in fact a radius when it should be more of a vee. In reality 95% of the public won't even notice it when assembled on the grille and installed on the car, but to the trained eye it will be an eye sore. Nothing can replace original equipment so if you have to have the best get yours redone and send those back. One more thing. If you reanodize yours any little stretch mark or imperfection from the factory stamping dies will most likely be wiped out so there is a chance the part won't look like NOS when done - but it will look good. The other alternative is to carefully work the repo into the proper shape. I had to do that with a set of repo Porsche 911 bumper trim parts. They weren't even close to fitting so I made a template from the original parts out of wood and with a rubber mallet and clamps I managed to change the radius so it actually fit my bumper. The end result was great but I did get those tiny fisher cracks in the anodizing in some places. Not noticeable at all unless you got right up to the surface to see and didn't seem to degrade over several years and 35 K miles of daily use. I guess that's the long way around to say send them back.

Molding Issue

Thanks for the input! I was thinking about trying to straighten out the point myself, But the anodizing looks perfect, and I know what it would look like when I was finished. They should have beed pie-cut and bent around a pointed mandrel and then tig welded in place. That would have given the correct look. Dang! So close to being perfect!
