68 road runner restoration, don't laugh its paid for.

definatly not duraglass. had a guy put 1/4 skins on a Charger , and everywhere he used duraglass it rotted thru.

What, you didn't stay with my red, white, and blue paint scheme for the engine? What did you find with the transmission rebuild? I doubt if it had 1000 miles on it since I rebuilt it in 1977. It was the first transmission I ever rebuilt and I didn't really know what I was doing.

Here is the only picture of the Road Runner I have been able to find so far. This was taken while I was home on leave over Christmas 1979. You can also see the '68 Sport Satellite that I originally bought as a parts car for the Road Runner. When this picture was taken, the Road Runner had a 440 Six Pack with about 12.5:1 compression in it. The Road Runner engine was in the Sport Satellite at the time. I don't remember why the car was on jack stands when I took this picture but I might have been starting with taking the 440 out so I could put the 383 back in.

Here are a couple of pictures of the Sport Satellite that were taken at Drag City in Pocatello, ID right after I had the car painted. It has the 440 Six Pack in it but the compression has been dropped back to around 9:1. I got tired of putting it back together.

Concur with Ron those are excellent photo's. I esp love the winters scene on the farm. Reminds me of a something some might use to make a cool mopar scene with models.

nice pictures. reminds me of when I had my mopars parked outside.

Weld all Holes in window corner, then using plenty of cool air to control warpage grind and smooth all paint off. After install a drip hose in joint to drain water thru trunk to ground. After lead the new corner in place. As stated stay away from all metal, if you have to use short hair glass. And seal the back as well as the front from moisture.

Al, thats an awesome pic. Should be my christmas card. Lol painted all the maroon interior stuff fri and hoping to paint the body red tomorrow. Ill post pics soon. Al if you have a chance id like to see a couple of pics of your other race automobile.

My birthday is thursday so I gave myself a gift. I painted my car.heres a couple pics. I researched pp1 and got several variations of red as the answer. This red is light in direct light but on the maroon side in the shade. It looks a little light in the booth but ill have to see how it looks in natural lighting.

In the sunlight or the shade, that is a great shade of red.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I cut in the red on the doors, underside of the hood and deck lid and sprayed the taillight extensions tonight. I told my wife I was starting to worry about getting it done for daytona ( thanksgiving). She informed me I better not rush it. Lol I told her im rushing it im just not cutting any corners.

Hello Everyone, I'm Jeff's Dad. Been lurking for a while just checking to see what he's getting done. I live 250 miles away so I can't check it in person. I bought him his first Runner back in 1982 when he was fifteen. It was a theft recovery and we got most of the parts, but send1.jpgwe had to put it back together. I found an old pic of it when we got it back together and running. I had about $1200 in when we got it finished, Not likely I could build one for that today, LOL.

Wow would love to have it today! Wish my first car was that cool

dad, glad to see you join. everyone else, i still look just like that, just a different color car. well maybe an extra 100 lbs. lol

If you buy me a RR, i'll call you dad too. nice photo.
