I have a 68 Roadrunner and I have purchased another hood, how do I find out if its a 68 or 69 hood? Thanks for the help.

Early '68 hoods did not have the cutouts underneath for the airgrabber. Late '68's and all '69's did have the cutouts.

Not sure but isnt there something different with the latches also?

Yep, location is slightly different. Wish I could pinpoint it better but that's all I know.

Like wannadrag mentioned, I knew there was something with the latch but wasn't sure if it was the location or configuration, so I didn't mention it. Moparmarks should have some more insight.

Which way does the outlet for the hood 'scoop' point?
On a 68 the outlets point out toward the fender.
On a 69 they point up.
After that, then you go to the early/late 68 style.

The safety/secondary catch and latch striker on the hood are both different parts from a 68 to 69 on a Road Runner. Also the hood latch release handle is different from 68 to 69 Road Runner but the primary latch itself is the same

Thank You for all of your answers I will check and take pictures of the hood I have when I visit the body shop. I have a June 68 Los Angeles Car. Not sure if that would be considered late model or not.

Maybe you could measure the distance from the fender to the latch opening on the core support, and then measure from the edge of the hood to the latch, that should get you close enought to tell if it will work.
I thought the scoop openings were the same and would work for either year, just depends on what insert you use.
