68 RT Charger

68moparmaniac, do you have your old tail light lenses? I need the silver rings that go in the centre. Also, I have a lot of excellent parts for a 68. If you're looking for stuff let me know and I'll see if I have it.

I am kind of in the same boat with the fuel injection system. I bought the Fitech dual quad fuel injection system for my Hemi engine, in the Daytona stock car. I am concerned that the fuel injection system might run lean during break in of the engine. I asked my engine builder if he wanted to break the engine in on the dyno with carbs instead of the Fuel injection, and he said that he wanted to break the engine in with the system that will be run on the car. I agree with you, they look great,I hope they run as good as they look! You are making great progress on the car!View attachment 881443
Wicked looking unit. Does your system come with a tablet to monitor the vitals/adjustments? Does the system include the distributor or some kind of spark control? Since I'm also breaking new ground using this EFI platform I'll be looking for and sharing answers as I go, hope you do the same.
I am going to do my break in on my engine dolly with a carb, this way I'll know for sure the drivetrain is ready to go when I drop it back in the car. If I have any problems I'll be able to omit the engine/drivetrain being the culprit...:moparsmiley:

Big thanks on the 68 parts source, I'm sure I'll be running into the "where the hell is...." time of the build
I do still have the old originals. The silver ring on the brake light lenses is a chrome plating that was showing it's age. I'll see if I can find them and I'll post some pics if your interested. They were in fairly good shape for 50+ yrs.

It does have a hand held controller, and it will run the ignition system. I am looking forward to seeing how it runs, and not dealing with the issues that carbs have.

I went the EFI route for the same reason, especially here in Utah where you can drive 15 miles and have a 1000 ft. elevation change. My rule of thumb was a jet for every 500 ft. of elevation change on the ole Holley. I felt a touch of 21st century tech. on the old girl would be a good thing. I like the idea of being able to customize the tune up when you want to, kinda a cake and eat it too thing....

I am hoping that it takes away the eye watering rich condition, that is usually required to get the car to run strong on top end. The tuneability of the system is big.

You could put some of these on your old lenses.
I've been considering getting some for mine.

Played carrot in front of the donkey today. Worked on some of the gravy projects. Started the EFI install on the the 440. Was able to get the hard line fabricated and get a feel for the general layout of the Edelbrock harnesses

Played around with gaining hood clearance. The EFI unit is real close hood clearance wise andsince I have to install the MAS in the air cleaner base I figured I'd buy that 2in. drop base from Mancini and put the OEM on the shelf.. Looks like I was able to gain about 3/8in more hood clearance. May not need it but I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it...

Got the chance to stab the new EFI dizzy, make some plug wires and installed the new Fluidampr from 440 source.

The brackets for attaching the hard lines to the frame. Are they something you made or a part that can be purchased?

Both actually, I used some stainless steel angle iron for the bulkhead fittings and purchased the other clamps from McMaster Carr.
