Finishing up before paint. Hope he calls me soon, It's starting to get cold out!
QQ1 was actually a half-year color that had a cut-off date if you were ordering the car.
They quit using it in July I believe? My car and Mario's were Born in June, and we both
have that P.I.T.A. hood latch location also.
One of the problems with getting todays paint formula's to match the original formula is, Some of the materials used back in the day, are no longer available. Example, lead. they tell me that lead affects the color . I wanted to buy my paint locally and Martin Seynor basecoat clear coat was the only one that came up with a formula. There is so much mettalic in mine , it looks a little lighter color in bright sunlight than what I remember the original. But that is OK, I like it. .... BTW Plymouth called that color " Electric Blue" and the same color at Dodge was " Bright Blue"....................MOI do know that PPG mixes all of the Mopar High impact colors, but my friend's system
at the time was Spies Hecker so that's what I went with. The DuPont IMRON is fantastic
material, but no one has the mixing stock anymore. Anyone can mix any color, If they
want to, or have apiece of the car to match it to. It helps to know the size of the flake
to get it right!
