69 Bee LCAs coming off

Got one LCA off and starting other side today. But a few questions.

Looking at the pivot arms, mine look pretty good and should be better once cleaned up, but comparing the originals to an aftermarket pair I noticed some slight differences. curious if will cause problems later as some members mentioned issues with aftermarket parts sliding out of correct alignment.

On original shaft, there’s a slight ridge where the arm rests in the bushing, is this a cause of concern. Also the tapering on original shaft is farther up compared to aftermarket. Aftermarket shafts are Proforged.

Also, I notice the pivot shaft bushing sleeve is connected to the torsion bar adjuster. If wanted, this sleeve can be removed? But again, sleeve looks in good shape.

Rubber bushing was another story.

I would use my original shafts. The bushing sleeve on the arm will have to come out. I am pretty sure the new bushing will have sleeves impregnated in the new bushing.
 
Yep use the original shafts like pnora stated unless your going back with poly bushings the outer sleeve needs to go.
 
Looks like the Pro Forged ones are the ones that can be greased. They use the poly bushings? Not real sold on those yet.

Yes, I got the Proforged poly bushings and wanted to use them, but with those Proforged shafts, the kit came with rubber bushing AND the sleeves.

But if I’m going to clean up the LCA and paint them cosmoline, don’t the sleeves need to come out? Need to go back and look at DadsBee build. And watch the video!
 
If you're going rubber OE style bushings those sleeves need to come off and even if you're not you'll want new sleeves if going POLY. The Proforged you bought will not accept stock style bushings and are oversize diameter to use their poly's only.

Now I understand your post. At the time, I didn't realize pivot arms had sleeves on them, but a Mopar buddy just showed me this morning. Now the lights are coming on. Now to find the LCA sleeves, and get old ones out.

Looks like there's already a sleeve in that poly bushing. Not sure how it would fit the proforged pin with it in there.

As for the "sleeve". In OE world there is NOT a seperate sleeve. The rubber OE bushing has an inner and outer metal sleeve as an assembly.
 
I just talked with Scott (Beekeeper) and he pointed the obvious I missed, my poly bushings too have the inner and outer sleeves.
 
LCA arms improved now with stiffening plates and poly bushings. Also had some tweaks and other damage fixed on them by a great craftsman friend.

Now for painting with fake cosmoline.

In the below picture, is the pivot shaft lip supposed to be flush with the bushing? The pivot shaft is the factory original and poly bushings.
