69 dodge charger

Im helping my dad out with restoring his dodge charger, last month we got to restoring the console when we realized he have no idea on how its assembled. mainly because he lost it when he was 20. he had just joined the Airforce and his step dad sold it while he was gone.

we have the parts to assemble a new one, were just clueless about where to start. Does anyone have a picture of a manual drive console?
