Ive been reluctant to take it off the frame rack for a month now. I keep thinking as soon as i take it off ill wish i hadnt, but all my toners for the base came in a few weeks ago, found a better driver door at the nats,(still gotta figure out the trim hardware holes), but making progress. Also my primers and clear made it in from SPI yesterday. So i really need to bodywork it and paint it before it gets too cold. So just waiting on Dad to get here to help get this sketchy setup going.

Well we test fit the panels today. I wish we couldve reused all the old stuff, but a deer took PS door and fender way before even my dad had it and the hood looked like mabye somebody went duke of hazzard on it along with the front of it rotted out. Not excited at all with how the fitment turned out. DS fender gap midway down will need tig rod filler. PS fender and door are touch, hood hinges to weak to keep the hood straight when lowered. I guess on the upside, we are further along than yesterday

Hood fitment, best thing that happened all day. Put the hinges on one time(unlike the doors 8million times) bolted the hood and closed it. If it wasnt for the weak spring pushing it to the drivers side i would drill a couple pilot holes and call it good

Messed with the gaps a little on the PS fender, got it away from the door. Its gotta come inward at the cowl. PS door front needs to come up more. Also the distance between rear of fender at hood opening and front is a difference of 3/16". So outward some on the drivers rear should help. I think i can move both doors back to tighten that gap to allow more wiggle room up front

Fitted lower grille support, from another car as the one we had pinholed out during sandblasting. Minor work needed on it, some tabs welded on and a few dents that need fixing

Well took the DS fender back off and did a few hours of readjusting the DS door. Dad and I had some choice words during it... towards the car and each other, lol.

Great looking project! Your Dad should be very proud of you.

Yeah he is happy as can be with the project. I could mess half up and he would still be happy to drive it. Im the one with the OCD on little things. I cant wait till i put paint on it next month just to see his reaction.

Progress for today. PS is about as good as i think i can get it without going crazy. Added some metal on the fender, just couldnt bring it in and back without causing door issues. Both are aftermarket AMD so I figured this side would have some mismatch. Ill probably shoot the epoxy on the parts while they are on later this week, then disassemble and finish out the inside of them. That way when they go back on its primer, filler and paint. No more having to take body parts on and off.

Got a set of hinges from a 68 charger to replace a bent one. Put one side on then closed the hood, all good. Bolted in the 2nd hinge and didnt think about the possibility of it being stuck(since 1st one was fine). Tried to close the hood, this happened. Front half moved back part did not.
