7 years bringing this 68 Coronet R/T back to the streets.

My brother and I put 7 years (part time) of hard work into this car. It sat before we picked it up for 19 years in a damp garage under a ton of boxes and other stuff, This car has a new interior, new complete brake system, new complete fuel system, many new items on the body, new headliner and vinyl top. This car had at least 10 pounds of mouse crap in it and just about everything on the interior was eaten up. Its come a long way. This week this car hit the streets for the first time in 26 years. Only things left are to replace the bumpers and some bodywork and a repaint to the original Bronze color. Going to just enjoy this car for awhile. That is my 70 Swinger in one of the pictures. I am an A body guy and did a majority of the work on the car and assisted in the resto choices on parts etc. I was all thumbs doing this as this car being a b body had me scratching my head at times but between my brother and I we made this car a reality. Next year begins the car shows, cruising, and making more little upgrades. Not a bad resto for two AARP Card holding geezers? Next is to get the numbers to Galen and find out how many Bronze / black top, stripe, interior 440HP/727/8.75 of these were made out of the 7,700 made in 68 and get an appraisal on it. This is really a nice car.

It is a wood grain console. All new and as expensive as hell to replace. Them top parts are not cheap.

Dont waste your time or money with Galen. You wont get anything you cant find out here. No one can tell you how many of any color combo as those records have been lost.

Getting the engine bay painted body color will help with the value.
A pic of the fender tag or build sheet will help to decipher the options which will affect the value too.
Appraisers are generally a poor judge on Mopars it seems. We can give you opinions for free.

Thank you. We just want to know a ball park kind of number for records and appraisal to get a somewhat accurate number to get the proper insurance and value. This car will remain on the family for a long time to come.

There were over 10,000 made in 68 but 440/727s were 7,700 or so made. I have heard the Bronze color was not popular back in the day so less of these were made in that color. I always kinda figured this car was a 1,000 or less total made in this color with a 440/727 but who knows??

Nice to see race between equally stock R/T's one from 67 and one from 68. See what performance difference if any exist between 915 heads, and afb to the 68 906 heads and avs.
