70 383 Exz. Manifold Flapper ???

On my exz. manifold flapper how tight is the spring ? I'm trying to keep my car as original as I can. If I wind it one round it is pretty stiff but if I unwind it, it will flap pretty bad. How do you know where to set it at? What does every one think ? Thanks Ronnioe

Got a service manual? The answer will be in it. Or do a search on it, for info.

That 'spring' is thermostatic. In other words, temp controls it.

I would go with the one round... it may seem tight check it when it's warmed up and see if it opens
