70 auto console help

In '70, the neutral safety switch is on the trans...it's a 3 prong style.

In '70, for the console shift auto cars, there is a rod (not a cable) that goes to the bottom of the column inside the engine compartment from the trans linkage so when you put the car in park, you can remove the ignition key. It also serves a purpose so you cannot turn the key to "lock" while car is in any gear but park.

Right, I wasn't sure whether it was or wasn't a cable. I have never owned a '70 just read it in a resto book, so the guy was wrong.:edgy:

So my next question... who's got a picture of one? And does anyone know where to get one?

Update. Still waiting on stephens to send out the column. I was always told the only dumb question, is the one you don't ask. I have read a lot on big blocks. I have a general knowledge of b body's. But I'm not an expert. I may have gone to wyo tech, but that was 10 years ago and my schooling was strictly auto body and refinishing. I appreciate any help I can get. I'm going for a resto mod look without doing something that I will regret in case a full resto is desired later. Previous owner was converting to super bee. I like both super bee and rt's undesided there. What color ect. Any thoughts ideas are welcome. Just don't trash on me to hard.
