70 Bee with or without Go Wing???

Some people don't even like 70 Coronet/Superbees.(I can't figure out why) Personally I love them with or without the go-wing!

I feel your indecision. I have been restoring my 70Bee since 2002 but we know how family and kids impact that! Now that I'm retiring next year I'll have all the time I need to finish and I can't help but acknowledge that I had the very same thoughts. Buy one or not? Mine did not come with it although it is a FC7, N96, 4sp,white C and white interior car. After reading all these posts.......I'm gonna pass. Try one on a lid and one w/o.....not enough trunk lids to go around for that!!!

I personally like the wing but feel it doesn’t fit that well, maybe to narrow? I’d leave it off.

I like them and am putting on on my 70 Road Runner, probably going to put on my 68 Cuda too.

No wing. No sense making the rear end as funky as the front end.
The only thing about the front end that I can't seem to get past is the center of the hood edge where it closes and meets the vertical front piece (whatever that's called). It looks like a pug with an underbite.

Otherwise, the grille and bee wing (or "angry" eyebrows) bumpers and the "Dodge" nameplate on the grille remind me of my 71 Charger R/T.

I have been in the process of restoring my 70 Bee for the last several years and had always planned on putting a go wing on it even though it wasn't optioned for one. I have since had second thoughts about this addition and would like some feedback, photos, opinions or threats to help me sway one way or another? The car is FJ6 Green Go with a Ledger Green reverse C Stripe and white interior . I hate to desecrate a perfectly good deck lid while installing a Go Wing only to find out later that I hate it? If I only had a spare deck lid...
It familiar but did it ever come with the wing?

Same with sideview mirrors etc
You with the sideview mirrors thing again!
:p:D:poke::drama::lol:
I haven't bought nor installed a passenger side mirror yet, but the car (and this driver) really want one! I ALWAYS look through the passenger side and rear glass, whenever I go right/change into a lane right of the one I'm in, but coming from a number of years driving trucks with ONLY side view mirrors, they are invaluable!
My friend had a GoWing on the back of his 70 Roadrunner that he added.
I've thought about it, especially since my car is yellow w/black, but the only wing that belongs on the rear of a 70 Roadrunner is a Superbird wing!
I didn't think his looked bad, and the same goes for most, but I am not doing one.

I have always been partial to Go Wing cars, like the look. If you decide to go that route make sure you get the inner deck lid reinforcements. My 70 GTX was optioned with the wing but didn’t have it when I bought the car in the early 90’s, even then an original was tough to find but I ended up with one.
Once I installed it the car looked perfect.

I like it on mine. It's your car; do what you want. And next time don't ask a question that you have no chance of getting a consensus on. :D

IMHO I think they only look good on 71 and up B bodies and 70 and up A bodies. I thought about adding on to my 70 GTX but after seeing a few Super B’s and Roadrunners, I rethought differently.

I bit the bullet and drilled 4 holes in the deck-lid of my '70 GTX because I like the go-wings! It is a personal preference. Most people don't like them but the deck-lid is so long on these cars I think it breaks it up a bit.

It is a matter of preference. I like them on 1970 cars, especially Chargers, but I wouldn't put one on a 68 or 69 because they were not available from the factory.

Wing if you have a C stripe, No wing if you have bumblebee stripes.

On a side note ‘70 Superbee’s are my favorite mopar and the dream car is one with a hemi!

If you’re still reading this - I wouldn’t put one on a beauty like that.

I'm new to this fantastic site. I was wondering about the "Go Wing" option for 1970. In all my life I have only seen 2 '70 Super Bee's with the wing. Was this actually an option for these cars as well as other mopars?

The Go wing was an option that became available in 1970. Early build 1970 cars did not have the provision stamped into the underside of the trunklids to accept the go wing and the underside support brackets. some early build 1971 cars had the 1970 style Go wings, then the new for 1971 Gull wing took the place of the Go wing. From the factory all wings were matte black finished reguardless of the color of the car or the stripes. The wings were optional, another way to personalize your car. They weren't for everyone, there are certainly a lot more cars with them now than were actually ordered with them. It was a matter of preference,if you liked them, then you checked the box on the order form. I have wings on all 5 of my 70 Chargers,3 have go wings, two have Daytona wings.

A friend put one on a 70 Bee and it looked OK, but the forces bent the deck. Granted the installation wasn't the best and he used little washers for reinforcement. If your going to do it, do the due diligence and do it right. The inside of his deck was butchered, wonder if the decks are the same for non-winged optioned decks.
