Just bought a '70 GTX, is there a restoration guide available for this car? I need photos and part numbers of what parts are correct and appropriate for this car.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the GTX, let's see some pictures. :)

Search around here, you'll find photos of just about any aspect of your car, and information on everything. Anything not readily found, just ask. People always do.

This site IS a restoration guide.

Welcome to the site. Where are you in FL? There are quite a few of us in the Sunshine State and we try to help one another out whenever possible.

Do find an (expensive) factory parts book and factory service manual.
Don't buy the Herd restoration book.
Do hang out here.
Don't be shy, ask for help but use very specific questions. (What is the correct part number and casting date for a 70 GTX XXXXX?)
Do enjoy the process and the car when it's done. The smiles and thumbs up make it all worth while.
Don't worry about the money you spend. It hasn't done the rest of us any good.

Thank you Bruzilla, I'm in Jacksonville.

Thank you, 69 Coronet R/T. I'm looking for both the service manual and parts book, no luck thus far.

:iamwithstupid: like PlumcrazyRR says... Also you can go over to http://www.69roadrunner.net/mopar/forumdisplay.php?31-Repair-and-Maintenance one of Joey's other sites & the owner of this site, there are great PDF versions in the reference material section there, for most 68-70 & on, for RR's, Belvederes, Satellites, Sport Satellites, GTX's MoPar's mid size 5 mainly, pretty much the same cars, with many of the same parts used...

while your at it join up & share your information with others too, that's the way we can all get something out of the information sharing, pay it forward so to speak...

Maybe even step up to the plate & pay the small fee & become a FBBO Gold Member, it's small price to pay for all the information you will get, from links, downloads &/or members sharing information etc., it helps to support our {Joey's} great sites...

The GTX Registry has some good info on part numbers with pictures.

here try this one

hope it helps you out I will keep looking for more info :reading:

Cool. I'm over in Orange Park, right off Kingsley Ave. We used to have a Mopar club, but it sort of faded away several years ago. I'm in the process of putting together another one. I'm hoping to get something going by the time Fall gets here so we can represent at all the car shows around here.

There are several 68 and 69 cars running around the area, but the only 70 that comes to mind is a Superbird that a guy in Fleming Island owns. I would suggest becoming best friends with Jerry down J & J Auto Parts in Starke. He's got several of everything down there, and if he doesn't have it on hand, he knows it from memory since he's been working with Mopars for decades.

I'll PM you my number, and feel free to call if you need help finding something.

Thank you, I know Jerry Dempsey, been to his place more than one time. You must be referring to the old First Coast Mopar Club. We now have the Cruising Mopars of Jacksonville, they are planning on going to the Fruit Cove Baptist show on the 12th.

What, because I didn't include a hyperlink in my post I get no thanks and it goes all to Snakeyes? It's a sad, sad day.

No offense, Baller, thank you for the info on the GTX registry.

Aw, gee thanks guys. I was kidding just so you know. Like Photon said, this site (and Moparts to a lesser degree) have a lot of info on these cars, you just have to learn to search for it. Obviously there will be similarities between the '70 RR as well so keep that in mind. When in doubt, just ask and the members here are usually more than willing to help out as best they can. And yes, we'd like to see pictures.

When I need a restoration guide I just go out to the garage.:blob1:
