70 Hemi Superbird Restoration..................errr.....scratch that........

Thanks guys. Please don't take this as a lesson in metal work or body work, as that's not what it is. I am a hack at best at metal/body work. If I could pay a professional to do this, I would! Here's where the driver's side repair went and ended up. It's "not bad" but I don't like the welding as it's much more brittle than the base metal but I really don't have the skills to work the metal properly without cutting and welding.

It's looking pretty nasty at this point and I'm wondering if it's going to cost me a fortune to fix it the right way!!

I still have more work to do to the top, but it'll hold together as long as I keep the rear out of the wall!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, and I bet that felt good didn't it haha! Nice fix

Started on the driver's side header. Going to have to build it backwards. It has to wrap around the steering shaft, oil pump and starter. The other side was much easier with no obstacles.

I started with the v-band clamp, 3 to 3-1/2" adapter and then the collector. I cut the adapter and collector as short as I could and the tig welded the 3 pieces together.

Your workmanship on all the different parts/pieces is great but I'll admit whenever I see you're working under the hood again I get excited hahaah!

Looks like good work to me..pitiful that AMD panels arent really any better than any other name brand, you have to cut all the metal up to make anything fit,Im not pleased with any of my AMD panels, the trunk pan & floor pans were ok..Keep on keeping on,your doing a Great job!!

I'm truly stunned at the skills so many on this site represent. I just found this thread and went thru the whole thing. I'm just amazed. I wish I had 1/100 of the skills this represents. You're really building a "monster"...... Congratulations on the progress and thx for posting.

Thanks guys. I haven't been able work on this at all due to an engine build and my day job which recently blew up.

The guy builds a mean HEMI too!

Looking good!

Unfortunately, no updates. My work schedule seems to be 7am to 7pm and doesn't leave much time for the car, and by the time I get home, take care of the yard work and all the other life stuff, I'm spent. Weekends have been spent on engine projects for others. I'm still waiting for the rear window plug to show up, maybe that will inspire an all nighter!

I hear that, Work brings the $$ in to keep the project moving though so that's a good thing. Between work, house shopping and selling my place I've had zero time to move my car lately and since our dollar is in the shitter (Canada) I'm holding off on parts shopping for a bit. Hopefully you can make a bit of headway on your crazy project soon enough I love watching it come together and I may hit you with a few pm's as I get closer to my Procharger install.

Cheers!
