mine was major surgery too. Floors, trunk, quarter panel which isn’t reproved for a convertible and radiator support.
It looks great,I have a long way to go on mine!
In order to install the new floor pans in the car,one first has to find the floor pans in my garage. This proved to be a harder task than I anticipated! After searching the entire building,I found the rear footwell pans were hovering right above the car! They were in the 70 Challenger convertible right above the car on the lift!

I haven't updated this thread in quite a while, I worked on it last winter until it got too cold out in the garage to go any further with the car. I got kinda discouraged when everytime I cut out something that needed to be replaced there was another 3 or 4 spots under it that needed to be replaced. I needed to step away from the car for a while. Now I have to move it and get it onto the lift so I can hang the doors and fenders,set the gaps then weld in the new floor pan that I got from AMD,it was on backorder. So I made a bracing frame assembly that will allow me to move the car without the body moving. Being a convertible they are far more likely to move around than a hardtop.
Lol,I'm on it Steve! I dropped the floor pan in place temporarily, and started fitting the braces frame into place, two pieces need a little more trimming, but overall it fits well. Tomorrow I will trim the pieces and tack it together, then I will pull it out of the car and weld it together. Then I will put it back in and weld it to the car.then I should be able to move it safely and get the car onto the lift.
I got all the bracing final fitted and welded into the car. The car can now be moved safely.

I got the Road Runner convertible project off the dolly and onto the lift and after looking at the rust free 71 Charger R/T, I had to ask myself what the hell am I fixing this convertible for? The other car is ready to paint! I guess I am just a glutton for punishment! That is the Road Runner convertible project car hovering over the 71 Charger R/T!

We all do this. I have two projects going on myself and am determined to find and do a 1960’s Patina short bed pick up
in the northeast
I know Steve, I need to get the heat installed in the garage before I retire in two years, or I won't be able to work out there in the cold weather. The radiant tubes are already in the garage floor throughput the whole building.
I have sold the 70 Road Runner convertible project to Steve,a fellow FBBO member and he is going to finish the car. I have decided that I need to sell some of the project cars to focus on getting some of the other cars done. I would like to think that between Steve and I we saved this cool Mopar convertible from the dead,and he will be cruising around with the top down sometime in the not too distant future!

It's official, I am passing the torch,literally to Steve on the project of resurrecting the 70 Road Runner convertible. The car just left for its new home in New York state. If the car comes out as well as the 68 Road Runner that he is finishing up the final details on now, it will be an amazing and rare convertible that we brought back from the dead! I am looking forward to seeing the progress on the car as it unfolds in the future. It should be ready for the Carlisle Mopar show in July! Lol
