im restoring this car and i never paid much attention to the fender tag and build sheet up till now cuz of body work and fab work. but it has a e86 440 4bbl engine code. i did some research and it was not n/a for the roadrunner unless it was a 440 3x2. im thinking maybe it was a special order??? the registry only shows 1 roadrunner with this engine code made. i know i cant be that lucky lol.

heres the link where i found that info-http://mutmo.tripod.com/70rrprodfig.html

The tag is a little hard to read....doesn't the VIN show RM21N0G? The N indicating a 383.
The Vehicle order number starts with a 2 so it was not a special order car.

What engine assembly is listed on the BS? What is the VIN on the BS?

sorry...unless you have the matching numbers 440 with the car...it looks like you have a factory mistake. it's an interesting mistake but a mistake none the less.

dang i was hoping i had a 1 of 1 car lol jk, but none the less i still have a cool car to restore. heres a little better pic of the tag, i hit with the pads.

the engine code on the bs is 86, cant see the part of the build sheet where the vin shows engine and body type because the seat spring did a rust burn across the paper and its right over that part of the vin. the vin on the car is rm21u0g197430 on the dash. i guess ill just stick a 440 4bbl in her, sounds cooler lol

i sent an email to the chrysler museum to see if they can verify it...

Are my eyes playing tricks on me ? The first tag looks like an "N" code, the next tag looks like a "U" code ?

i know right lol, but no its the same tag.
ill find out what she really had in her whenever the chrysler historical gets back to me. most likely someone probly made a bogus tag.because the 1 car made from the st. Louis plant that did have a 440 4bbl they have it list as a hardtop and mines a coupe

Look on line four of the BS. The second group of numbers from the left has a three digit engine assembly number. It's under the heading : ENGINE. What is that number?

it says 116 but i cant find any info on that
