Hey guys,
Been awhile since Ive been here. Got rid of my 69 Coronet project about 3 years ago. I dont really regret it, but now I want to get back into another B body.
Found a 70 Sport Satellite locally. Going to take a look saturday. Seller is the 2nd owner and has had it since 1983. 318 2v, 904, 8.25?, A/C, PB, PS, buckets, no console, column shift. Ice Blue (B3 I think), Blue interior, Magnum 500s. Not sure if all this is right, cuz Im only going off of what I can see in the pics he sent me. Motor was redone in 1990 and he says it has only about 1000 miles on it since then. Has all receipts. Basically sits in his garage for last 30 years. He takes it out for short drives 3-4 times a year. Im not crazy about that cuz lot rot can be a bitch.
Anyways, he states the car is completely rust free, interior is mint, basically an all original show car. Of course, Ill see about that on saturday. Pics can be deceiving, but it does look excellent.
I might be putting the cart in front of the horse, without seeing it yet, but Id like to get an idea of what this is worth if its as nice as he says it is. I dont like to go into these situations unprepared.
So Ive been scouring the internet trying to find comps and its not going that well. Lots of RR, Gtx, and "base" Satellites. Not alot of Sport Satellites. Especially original with a SB. Everyones got a BB.
Best I could come up with in what I consider "excellent" condition would be 19-22k.
What do u guys think?
Also, does anyone know what axle they paired with the 318 in 1970? Ill find out obviously, but Im assuming 8.25? They didnt put 7.25 behind them, did they?
Thanks guys, I appreciate any advice or opinions you can give.

My 70 Sport Satellite 318 came with 3.23 8-3/4. It is B7 blue with white and blue interior, white vinyl top. It would be nice if you shared pictures of the B3 blue car you are looking at.

Based on my recent search for mine, I would say 18000 tops, with no flaws. Mine has some minor issues with the body, perfect undercarriage , a perfect interior, a 400+ hp 360, 727 ,8 3/4 rear and I got it for 12000 .

Values are down right now, it would have to be exceptionally good for me to think anything over 13-14k would be worth it. Sounds to me like you're going to be replacing a lot of stuff from it sitting that long.

Now, if it were a Roadrunner or a factory 383 Satellite, then I'd say 16-22k depending on originality and color combo/options.

16k if you are really in love with the car but that's all the money. He's dreaming at 23k.

18 is better than 23. looks good in the pics, be better in person to look it over. Show up with 14-15 and go from there.

The car in those pictures assuming it looks as good in person and is totally solid/rust free/minimum plastic is worth every penny of what he is asking. Im sure you can offer less and buy the car, say 15 and work your way up to a mutual agreed price.
Seven out of ten people will tell you that you paid to much. Just take into consideration how much it costs to get body and paint done. Also take into consideration a car that has not been taken apart numerous times by owners who are less skilled.
The fact that its not a high performance model can mean it was less abused and myself id rather have that car in great condition then a more sought after model that has been used, abused, taken part and would cost big dollars to make it right.
Thats just my opinion. Good luck!

It was "restored" in 1990. I would be more willing to agree with a higher number if it was a survivor. 1990s repop parts were not the best, I'd want to see before photos.

It looks like a clean car but only 1000 miles in 28 years scares me. Any real driving and you'll be into hoses, a radiator, water pump, thermostat, gaskets, etc, etc, etc.

It's also been listed for over a month so obviously it's not a steal at 18k.
