First, is the k frame for a 72 road runner the same as my 71 charger?
Any recommendations or suggestions greatly appreciated
Having trouble aligning my mopar, maybe k frame is bent as we see some welding done previously
Thank you in advance

The 70-72 B body V8 K member is the same for 318-340-383-400 and 440.

If the k frame bolts up at all 4 corners I doubt it's bent even a little out will make life miserable trying to get those 4 bolts in!

Here are the Part numbers for the B Body K members

nope
70 has a different steer box angle
i believe
71-2 b is the same as 70-4 e
yes they will work between the years but all are not the same

Yeah, that is more accurate. I was thinking about fitment and function, not actual OEM correctness. The 440 K member had the skid plate as well.

You say 440 had the skid plate was that a 71 deal only? 68 and 72 came without.
Thought it was a hemi only deal to protect the the big oil pan and possibly on the 440-6.

I have a late build July 1971 383 RR has the skid plate K-member and I doubt it was "replaced". These were being used up and ended up on some 383 cars as well...

Strange the 72 RR GTX has no skid plate, the 68 Charger RT has no skid plate both have the original k member.

My U-code 72 RR has the skid plate K-member...

1969 1970 1971 Broadcast Sheet

Row 4 Under (Frame) is the last two numbers of your Factory K Frame

My 71 Superbee had 52 under Frame in the Broadcast Sheet

So Part # 3583052

This shows it as a 1970 K Frame Part # , but the build date numbers on the front of the K Frame showed it as a very late 1970 Built K Frame
For my December 1970 Built 1971 Superbee

I have been told the steering geometry changed early to late Built 1970 K Frames

Anyways here are some better part numbers on that picture I posted

Under remarks it tells if it came with a skid plate or not based on your part number
