72-73 charger hood different?

Wizard, I've seen the one for $300. More than I want to spend right now. I have access to two 72 hoods, will check on condition but I think they are both good. Email me montclairemotors at yahoo. I am waiting for the AMD hoods to come out to free up some flat hoods. haha
Yeah, thought it was a little to much also for a hood. I will e-mail you

While we are on the subject, what is a rough 71 Bee hood worth? Edges are all shot, you'd have to reskin a good flat hood. Still has insert, needs restored. AFAIK they are only doing new air grabber hoods, correct?

$100 if you come here, and you can pick which you want. Or $120 and I will meet you around Hazleton (about half way). Seems fair?

What city or zip do you live in? Any pics? I cleaned out my inbox a little if you want to PM me with pics

Yeah $300.00 for a 71-74 Charger FLAT hood is on the high side. There a ton of them out there and they're not desirable.

If anyone is still looking, i have a 71 flat Hood.

I'm looking for a hood for a 74 but I'm in Colorado. You guys are too far away for me to pick up.

I got a cheap 74 hood but shipping.....

The hoods have a bunch of differences but will they all fit, yes.
Even the hump is different, little longer 73-4. Mine is a 71 hood (red) black is 74. Taken at Carlisle last year.

Eeehm, no Bob, hump is not diff. For many years 71 and 72 blacked out treatments ( BOTH ones ) were installed on 73/74, untill the 73/74 stencils were made and fitment was perfect.

Yes they are, the 74 is longer, we measured it. By at least and inch.
VERY clear in the picture.

yes I can se the pics, but damn! in person I never have noticed any diff. Aside than as mentioned, if you try to fit a 72 blacked out stencil, fits the same on 73/74 and it was used for many years in fact, before the 73/74 blackout treatment become available.

Any chance the hood got some bondo around there ? I can see hood pins locations way wrong, and it could find anything down the paint, specially being is not the factory hood ( its an SE ).

sorry my doubts about it

Yes, the pins were all wrong. But that is the way he got it and didn't want to fill and redo them.
The bulge is moved/slid forward a bit on the 74 and comes to just a bit more of a point, no much but a noticeable amount when looking at them side by side.

Here is the only OTHER picture I have of my purchased new 73 SE. It had a 318 so I put Charger emblems on the hood.
