72-73 charger hood different?

has being told there is a SMALL difference in front inner frame to accomodate better the front bumper fender to bumper braces, but nothing to worry. The major difference is as mentioned on vent cowl grilles and doesn't make anything to the body lines

despite the buldge, the insert or plain look... these are the configurations of the grilles on hood

1st half 71

I just happen to have 2-super bee/ RT hoods in the garage.

1 that would be considered a first half 71 and the other would be a 73 according to this post. Both are the same dimensions. Width and length.

pics?

The hood dimensions itself is the same, the bulge and placement is just a bit different.
But a thought just came to me, I wonder if it is just the hoods with the inserts?
IE: Superbee hood?

I just wanted to put this here... AMD now is making 71 ramcharger hoods and bulge hoods. Will fit all 71-4 Chargers, but might be incorrect for the year. Pictures and links:

I do think the regular bulge hood is priced too high, but the ramcharger price is reasonble. Especially when considering the impossibility of past structural damage and rust...

They still have not hit the streets so we will see when they get them done. Yes its likely they will only do one style on the vents.

Rust is a SEVERE issue on these hoods, and to a lesser extent the 73/74 RR hoods.

Most of the Charger hoods I've seen seem like they have no or very, very thin coating on the back side of the frame and inside the nose of the hood.

This causes the frame to rust out in all sorts of places and the nose of the skin to become disconnected from the frame.

The RR hoods seem to have an issue in the nose area between the two sections of metal but they seem to stay together.

Agree on pricing for $100 more the working ramcharger door version is a MUCH better deal.

Interesting they chose to do the plain bulge version with 71 style vents, which IIRC was not an OEM option.

...by contrast the flat hoods for 71-74 seem to be super solid and rarely rust.

WTF?
