So I remember reading about upgrading the voltage limiter before it quits on you in the 70's rally clusters. OF course, since mine was working, I didn't listen. Does anyone have any advice before I just buy the stock one from the part store? Is there an electronic upgrade I should be using to save myself from going through this again?

There are solid state electronic ones available on Ebay. Also, online. Can't remember the name. RTT or something. Anyway, if you do an internet search with the part number of your Limiter. 1V3 or whatevery, you will get the right result. They aren't cheap. About $45.00 but, they do have overvoltage protection.
