727 AT transmission fluid

Just wondering what AT transmission fluid members use for their 727s. My shop manual for my 66 Satellite says to use ATF suffix "A". I don't think they still make fluid using this identifier. I went to Autozone and they looked up the atf for my car on their computer and it came up ATF-III. All they had that was designated Chrysler ATF was ATF-IV. He had Chevy/Ford ATF-III equivalent, but I was wondering what you guys recommend.

any designated as atf III or sometimes listed as"classic"atf will work fine.try to stay with name brands as you never know what you are getting with the cheep stuff.

ive been using ATF+4 for years , good stuff. ive also used type F and dextron III for years.

Ford type F. Higher friction coefficient. Been using it for years.

Been using NAPA Dexron II for many years. No problems

Ford type-F.. makes the clutches grab a little quicker.
