Has someone put a 727 bb Trans in a 65 Plymouth with cable shift, will

it work ? i would love to keep the floor shift console with the original cable .

Why not? I have seen it done in magazines and a few people here have done it.

727 trans

Yes
I have one in my 65 coronet 500.

moparcrazy, if youre referring to the 65 & earlier cable shift trans, it will go right in. There is a difference in the valve body between a button shift car and a column/console shift car that you have to be aware of.

If you're referring to a post-65 linkage style trans it gets a little more complex but it can be done. I have not seen a writeup on here about doing that while maintaining the stock console shifter, but in fairness I have not looked. I did this in my '64 Sport Fury some years ago using a modified stock shifter and a B&M cable kit. It wasn't perfect but it was functional and totally hidden. I'm sure that with a rework of my modified lever lengths I could have made it right.

'65 big block transmissions are available. Not the cheapest, but available nevertheless. Check out the transmission for sale section on Moparts.

I've got a '67 727 in my '64 Polara and retained my original shifter and console. I used the Imperial Services http://imperialservices.net/ conversion kit. You will need to purchase the cable conversion kit as well as the conversion mount. It works well.
