Welp it's out... so out of curiosity I wanted to try to decode the casting numbers, all the searches I've done haven't helped me. If anybody has a resource on how to decode this thing or knows what the numbers mean I would greatly appreciate it thanks!

Thanks KKid.... Looks like it was a January 5 1968 build date, out of a 440 C body car (which is what I pulled it out of) hey surprise surprise I have a 'correct' transmission for a 68 440 Satellite the factory never built LOL...wondering about the other #s too. You guys got the magic touch, nothing I pulled up on Google was specific enough for me to decode my own numbers...

The trans case was cast in late 67, looks like Dec. The trans is a 68 model built on Jan. 5th 1968. 2801540 is the part number, indicating a lo po 440 trans. 2352 is the 10000 day calendar date, Jan. 5, 68. 1118 is a sequence number, supposedly starting at 1 at the begining of the day. Each box beside the 67 represents a month, the last box with pop marks in is the month that the case was cast.
