727 Year Identification.

3515844. I get 1971 C body with 360 Unless it’s a truck tranny. Post some pics of the tail housing. My book only does car trannies.

Here's a pic of the tailshaft. Longer than a truck - At least I think so anyway. I am curious to know what it came from though. But what ever it is- It's going in that duster now. I already got the kit and started the teardown. Thanks for your help bro - I appreciate it very much.

Yes it’s a car tranny. Tail shaft and housing are the exact same length car or truck long tranny’s. The retainer for the C clip is on the bottom. It’s the plate with the 2 Phillips head screws. Trucks have it on the drivers side. Kim

Bit late to this party, but I decided to grab the numbers off my unknown BB 727 in my Satellite.

4039534M 6151 1437 (possibly 1487)..

10,000 day calendar puts it at May 31, 1978. Part # puts in in the 1978 range of truck transmissions, but the list at MyMopar does not list this exact part number, the closest is 4039539 which is a long extension big block truck tranny.

Anyone have thoughts as to the part # with what looks like an "M" on the end?

Show the input shaft. Splines to the end or last 3/4 inch smooth and necked down? Show where the trans mount bolts on. If the plate is on the bottom most likely a car tranny. Especially if it’s a lock up trans. Plate on the side it’s a truck tranny. Kim
