I have a 65 Satellite with a 727 transmission; cable drive. I was having a bad transmission leak, so I took it to a transmission shop and they replaced all the gaskets (which was probably needed anyway), then a couple days went by and I noticed more transmission fluid leaking. Come to find out the leak was from the speedometer cable, seeping through the cable. Now in most cars that isn't a real problem, right? Just change the speedo cable. Well, this application has the speedo cable attached to the transmission speedo gear as a unit. So, now, I have tried to sleeve the cable and seal it, but it's not working. Does anyone have a fix? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced this type of leak in need or repair. I need to know how to seal this and stop the leak or find some of you members that might have a cable lying around after changing trans or something and not in need of it. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. I am loosing about a quart a month or so even when I don't drive it. I can't really enjoy going to cruise ins and leaving a puddle when I leave. Thanks!!

As I said in the other post, Schumacher Creative Services, buy a new cable and fix your problem.
