Thanks for all your help. I know what needs to be done and I can make it work until I get the idler pulley and dbl. spacer. Thanks again!Yes.
Not for 73 and lates. Just 3 belts on theseI thought there was a bracket with an idler pulley for the 4-belt setup?
As mentioned on my previous replies… not for 73 and lates. The iddler pulley setup for the water pump belt is up to 72 where water pump and steering pump runs their own belts. On 73 and lates they share the belt, so the steering pump works as the iddler for both.

The top and bottom brackets are not alligned on AC setups. On AC setups, the top alt mounting ear fits IN FRONT of the bracket, and the adjusting bolt bracket of course in front of alt. Here is a side view of the brackets, note how the mount surfaces are offset.

Thanks for your input. Thought I had it figured out, but when the alternator hangs from the top pivot bolt it is/looks misaligned. Appears that it needs to tilt down at the front but can't the way it currently is. Do I have the correct upper alternator bracket? Any input is greatly appreciated. No, changeover happened between 72 and 73
