75-76-77 B-bodies

I've been wondering how the Cordoba would look with fabricated fiberglass plugs in place of the bumpers. You know something that fits with the body lines but is painted like the flexible bumpers were.

If someone would send me the bumpers, I'd repop them in
fiberglass and send the bumpers and a set of fiberglass
bumpers back at their shipping cost. My profit would be to
get the molds. Wouldn't take but a few days to build them.
I'm planning to do my Magnum bumpers here in the next
month or two. I don't have any Cordobas or Chargers to
pop them myself.
I've been setting up my back room to build some other
fiberglass parts that another member wants, so I have
everything I need to build other molds right now.

super77, i think that looks pretty good with the bumper! real nice.. Cant comment on the weight but i like the way its made..

yes my friend, myself as well. i would love to come up with something that is lightweight and would look good as a filler and flow with design , maybe a lower valance of some kind , idk.

i have an extra bumper in my garage right now that you can have. the problem is , it would cost a fortune to ship that thing. it would almost be the same as shipping a bare engine block. i dont know how many you would sell, or if it would be worth the trouble. what kind of other parts are you making? i have a couple things that i would like to see made that you could make some money on.

GT, if you made fiberglass 'Doba bumpers I'd definitely buy a set. I've brainstormed and wrestled with what to do about those huge heavy things ever since I first laid eyes on my Cordoba. Sectioning and fitting would be a huge challenge due to the curves and body-matching contours, and the results would probably be awkward and sketchy. I've considered making molds and reproducing them in 'glass but I have 0 experience with that kind of thing. A one piece bumper/valence/filler would be a coup. Something sleeker and slicker and up to date.
Theres gotta be someone in the SE with a set of bumpers you could use. I'd send you mine and you could include the six lightening holes as blanks for people to cut out or not as they see fit, the hard part (getting the spacing right on an un-square surface) is already done. I think the shipping, even on Greyhound, would be tremendous.

That 75 Fury RR clone with the 400 and sunroof sold for 9K.

That's pretty strong money for a 4th Gen.

And the ad for the RR said the rear quarter was replaced.

I think our late 70's cars are going to increase in value, even for plain ones. I call it the 57 Chevy effect. When prices got too high on 57 Chevy's, people started buying 58's, then 59's, then 60's, etc.

Try finding another mid 70s big block, low mileage, plaid interior car for that price. None the less good price for the car, but as far as an original late b-body that car is nice. Didn't see any pics of the rear deck graphic though.

This whole generation of cars will be interesting to watch as they're still the newer classics. The styling went out some along with the performance. Granted the performance especially suspension, handling, brakes, etc improved from similar brand cars from early 50s on back, but it's hard for a 76 RR to stand up against a 70 RR on many levels. Still a RR though. There's always restomodding too. I'd really love to see what people do in restyling the bumpers on these big bumper 70s cars.

Even though that wasn't a "real" RR, it was slam loaded wit hoptions and a factory big block car.

I'd drive the hell out of it :)

...and I have seen a "real" 75 RR with almost all of those options.

I end up with it..re-invested what i have in a 73 Fury Gran coupe.:downtown:

I had a line on a couple moslty bench seat 318's one with no options except the 400. This was a better deal except it was a little above my reserve bid price.

Hey cordobadart, don't you and/or your friends have several youtube videos of your cars? If so, they look great and you look like you're having a lot of fun. It's great to see people who love 70's Mopars.

every single 75-79 B Body has the opera style window. it could not be deleted or filled in from the factory. the only alteration is the louvered covering that came on the charger se and the magnum

My 75 B-body Coronet does not have opera windows and never did.... so I guess you are mistaken
