Can anybody tell me what year and model of car this is? It has the grill of a 77 Monaco and the rear end of a 75 Fury it looks like. It’s at a yard near me and won’t see it for a while to get a VIN or look under the hood. TIA

Azz ends shape never changed on any of them.... headlights make it at least a '77. Here's a '76 Fury Sport, my Father's no less... with my Niece on the hood.

The combination along with full sized back window(not opera) and chrome strip across the roof put me between the two. I swore I got a glimpse of the “Monaco” badging on the glove compartment but not 100% sure.

Yeah, Chrysler did some strange stuff back then. If it is a Dodge, It maybe a Coronet/Monoco.
I worked at a Dodge Dealer in the 70's. We had strange stuff come in. A 76 Charger with Cordoba badges interior and steering wheel.
Some with Cordoba taillights.Chrysler was in bad shape then (much like today) Quality control and line workers doing stuff because they were all facing job loss.
The delivery drivers were always telling us "We don't know if we will have a job tomorrow."
There was also a Charger "Sport" of 76 that was basic a Coronet 2 door hardtop. And a 2 door Coronet Brougham.
The joke was "Never say never when it came to Ma Mopar."

1977 Plymouth Fury 2 Door.

Edit: Mr C is correct Looks to be a base model without the "opera" windows.

Hard to see past the brush.
Plymouth had a big grill across, Dodge Monaco had a 2 piece grill with a beam in the center.
Square headlights means 77/78
So it is a Monaco or a Fury, Coronet looks like that too but was only 75/76. Coronet got "replaced" by the Monaco name in 77, and the C body monaco got called Royal Monaco for that year and then was discontinued. Same with the Fury and Grand Fury for 77.

As for the rear end, the sheet metal was basically all the same but tail lights were basically a crap shoot. I have a 78 Monaco police sedan, so tail lights in the bumper. I have seen 4 variations of the tail lights for the sedans. Far as I can tell it does not really matter what the nameplate is lol. So what tail lights end up on the back of a coupe probably had more to do with what level package was ordered, with some randomness thrown in for good measure depending on what was left in the parts bin that day.

All of the 2 door coupes from that time were basically the same going back to cordoba in 75. Obviously the trim and some minor details for rebadging were going on.
That car looks pretty complete. Might be some harder to find parts on there. I would love to see more pictures, no one talks about these cars and a majority of them are gone to rust or demo derby, or just plain crusher.

Yeah it's hard to tell with all the brush. I see what looks like a split grill, but I don't see the little "opera" windows on the quarters. Googling 1977/78 Dodge Monaco comes up with what looks like is sitting in that yard. Looks to be a base model 2 door hardtop.

I’m going to go next week when it warms up a bit to take some more pictures. I’ll definitely update when I get them. In my opinion, it looks like a 76 Charger Sport with a 77 Monaco front clip possibly. It looks like a split grill with no beam, just a sort of placeholder? Also a stain of what looks like a “Sport” badge on the sail panel(hard to see in these pictures)

Found this on a Google search and that car looks a lot like this. Might have been a trim level trying to generate sales. As said, MOPAR was in sad shape in the late 70s.

Not all the Monaco/Fury coupes had opera windows. Or even a vinyle roof.

Here is one I saw for sale a couple years ago, it is a 78 I think-

it has the sporty 3 bar wheel like my police sedan also:

Plus, maybe I am seeing things but the one in the OP lookslike I can see a trim line on the roof, where a vinyl roof may be hard to see if it color matches or maybe it is gone....
I seem to remember someone posting a picture of a dealer installed option "half roof" vinyl top on these cars from that era, might have been a 75 Charger though.

I have also seen one or two Fury's with a two piece grill, they were the "upscale" trim so maybe that had something to do with it. Or someone just liked the Monaco grill better lol and swapped it, these cars were $3k in mint shape like ten years ago so all bets were off as far as keeping original.

Well, lookie at that on FB right now a picture of a 75 Charger with the "half roof"

This does have the opera windows. But that era, all bets were off on how things ended up, dealers were installing things like stripe kits, roof kits, decals, all after taking delivery of the car.

With the chrome strip I’m thinking somebody removed a half vinyl roof at some point in its life. I can see two vertical stripes in the taillights like the 76 Charger Sport. Also the grill isn't split by sheet metal like a Monaco—looks more like the one piece Charger Sport bezel with chrome down the middle. As for the headlights I’m stumped, I don’t think a stacked light bezel from 77 would fit in 76 cutout without being bored out. I’m having a blast trying to figure this one out.
