I got a Summit catalog in the mail and it looks like the Edelbrock E Streets with the 75cc combustion chamber are finally out and they are listed for $1200 or so instead of being almost the exact same price as the RPMs like the 84cc E Streets were.

Anybody know anyone who has flowed these? Or links to someone on the web who has numbers?

Edelbrock's website is claiming the same flow numbers for the E Streets as the RPMs.

Without this turning into a 440Source-bash, it looks like these could be good competition to the Stealths if they flow much better for just a couple hundred more.

Finally

One of our members IQ52/Jim from LaRoy Engines in Challis Idaho, professional head porter/engine builder, was going to do a set, at one time... I don't know if he ever got any thou, {the 75cc versions were originally advertised for $799.00 a set, I think it was, comparable in price to the Stealths} the pricing changed & when they would be available to the public... The valves, intake & exhaust ports are supposed to be the same sizes as the RPM's & just smaller redesigned 75cc combustion chambers, if I remember correctly... I talked to them a few times, last year about this time & the release date kept changing...

yeah $350 less than the RPM's & 75cc chambers, would have been a good choice for a low compression 383ci street engine, I was building a while ago... I just put 84cc RPM's on instead

Yep, they're out and people are runnin' them. Unfortunately we've had no time to get some and test them.

Still have angled plugs? If so too bad, they would be good for a low compression 440 like mine. Not gonna buy $800 set of headers to run them.

there are many different headers that don't cost $800 that will work on the angle plug heads... most actually get more plug clearances with the angle plug heads, angling away from the exhaust tubing, using some cheaper headers I've had {I'm sure there're exceptions to that}... But I'm also the type of person that, if I spend that kind of money on a set of aluminum heads {especially if they are ported/modified}, I'm also willing to put on a proper set of real race or well fitted headers, that work the best for my combo too.... People are willing to spend thousands on heads & then scrimp on the cost of proper set of headers... Why?? I never got that... Now I usually build my own headers, with real race collectors, that fit my heads, fit my car, fit my intended RPM & torque range/tube length etc., whom ever brand head I use & they ain't cheap to build either, but worth the time & money IMHFO... This hobby isn't for the budget minded for the most part, especially if your into Mopars... It coms down to... How fast to want to go ??, how much performance do you want to have ??, do you want the most out of your combo ??, how much are you willing to spend ??, everyone's budget is different, everyone's tastes are different, everybody's opinions are different... I prefer spending my hard earned money on the superior product, one time, over a cheap or inferior product, replacing it latter... any-day, any part, that I buy now, based on what my real expectation are, for that specific combo.................... That's the main thing, that I've learned over the many years, of doing any of these performance type muscle car or racecars, spend the money right, "the 1st time", it's far cheaper & far less hassles, in the long run, wait a little longer or until you have enough money, spend a little more & be a little more patient & 1st but foremost don't be cheap, be thrifty, by smart instead................. my $0.02 cent, well maybe $0.04 cents now...

I'm sure there are other alternatives for headers.
Thought the E streets were an "entry level" head, I take that to be a cheaper alternative to the Performer heads. Run the entry level heads and get buy with cheaper headers. Maybe they could have started with the Mopar Performance "452" casting that has straight plugs. That would open the door to lots of headers.
If I ever get ahead in life, my plan is to go with the MP heads.

My question is what is the difference between these heads and the RPM heads ?? Ron

Prior to any upgrades or porting... I would say different springs, than the RPM's {I would think, hence the lower RPM range} with a smaller/better 75cc combustion chambers, that improves the combustion, from what the website says... for use with stock low compression pistons in 361-440ci BB-wedge engines, be able to maintain 9.5:1 compression, in the idle-5500rpm range, improved combustion chamber design, 15* valve angle, 210 cc intake port volume & 70cc exhaust port volume, 291cfm intake flow @ 0.600" valve lift & 217cfm exhaust flow @ 0.600" valve lift, with larger 2.14" x 11/32" intake & 1.81" x 11/32" exhaust valves, with cupped hardened washers under the springs & 1.55" dual valve springs, heads are prepped for up-to 0.600" max gross valve lift, 5/8" thick deck surfaces A356/T-6 aluminum, heli-coiled bolt holes & stock exhaust port locations.... 100% USA made

I ran budget ($300) jeg brand ceramic coated headers built by Patriot on my 440 with the Edelbrock Performer RPM's.. Don't think you can get much cheaper than that for a good heavy gauge header, ceramic coated, with decent fitment. Just don't expect to slip em' right on! Torsion bar had to come out on the drivers side.

Angled plugs have better fitment in my opinion.
