8 3/4 limited slip to sure grip

I have been putting together a 8.75 rear axle and have been asking questions to Randy's Ring and Pinion. I have purchase a few components but really not that many - but they keep answering my questions. They seem to know what they are talking about and getting someone to answer tech questions is a bonus nowadays.

Thanks again you guys, The importer has mentioned Richmond gears but the next application question is………..
"69 superbee with 742 case used both fine spline and course spline axles"
That is what has come back, so maybe someone knows a secret of identifaction on the axles or I guess I am goona get greasy mitts and skinned knuckles and pull an axle out to check before I can order the bits.

All 8 3/4 axles are 30 spline. It's the yoke that may be different. Besides that, if you are only doing a gear change, you won't be doing anything that will make the axle spline change. Anyways, the yokes came in both course and fine spline and in the small or large u-joint so there are 4 different ones. You need to look to see what you have but the 42 case should have come with the course spline yoke...but, I've seen aftermarket gear sets come with the fine spline pinion gear. You can safely pull the nut and washer off of your rear and take a look and then put the nut back on without disturbing the pinion bearing preload since it's set with shims and not a crush sleeve. You may need a simple steering wheel puller to get it off....

Mr Cranky, thanks a heap, you are most helpful.
I misread the suppliers email and he was speaking about course/fine spline to the pinion.
I did wonder why the axle spilne would even be relevant to supplying the goodies.
I try not to be a dumb arse but it happens sometimes, I had to work in the salt mines as a youngster and neva got much skoolin. I likes ta look at pictures tho.
If I pull out the yoke just far enough to check it out, how do I know which is which?
There must be a number of splines i can count to see?
What is the torque setting for the nut when I put the yoke back?

Ok, I am finally ready to do the swap, I have heard that there is a company that makes the crossmember for 2nd gen, does anybody make one for 3rd gen chargers?
