Looking at this on Craigslist for my wife, without knowing the asking price, what would you value it as? She likes weird vehicles like this. Would just be something to throw wheels and tires on, backyard bodywork (bondo) with Maaco paint, tune up, exhaust system, and go to cruise nights.

Slant-six (i'm guessing 170ci), auto. Owner states it runs and drives great, we all know how that goes though! The price reflects condition in the ad, just want to see what ya'll think.

Man those are ugly! Don't take that wrong,... I like them and think they are cool. Kind of like a Bulldog! Not the most attractive of dogs, but they have a definite cool factor. When I lived in Minnesota, I had a neighbor that had one. He had a vanity plate on it that said "BUTUGLY". He said at first the DMV wouldn't approve it because it had BUTT in it. He said he had to talk to them and convince them that wasn't his intent, and that his intent was that it "Was cool, but ugly".

I apologize that I don't have anything to offer on the value, just that I think they are cool and understand your wife liking them. Hope it works out for you!

That' a van with the upper section cut off and moved forward.

Are you kidding? I think those things are cool as a cucumber! If you don't know it, check out the "Little Red Wagon". It was an A-100 with hemi engine that was one of the most famous wheel standers of all time! Ask KiwiGTX here on the forum, he's got one. I don't know the asking price but if it's not rotted out or cost a fortune, I say go for it!

Okay knowing that, what do you value it as? I've only seen a few in my lifetime, so have no idea if they're even worth much in basket-case condition. Yes, everyone loves the Little Red Wagon; it's probably on of the most iconic Mopar's of all time.

:thankyou: I just noticed that! He had two ads up, first didn't show that side of the truck.

I really am not qualified to make a guess as to what it's worth, but If it runs and drives well I'd go up to maybe $500. I'd have to test drive it first though and give a good examination. I had the whole van version way back when and loved it! I think I posted a pic of it in my photo garage!

I think they are cool! If it's all there, does "run and drive" well and it's just dents and bangs and not rust I don't think even $1500-$2000 is that out of reason. These things are getting pretty hard to find in any condition. I knew a guy years ago that was really into them and I recall him selling one in the 90s for a couple grand and it didn't look a lot better than that one. If you find a rust bucket though, I wouldn't touch it.

I've already passed up this one knowing it was an ex-van turned truck. If it was a true A100 truck then I felt it had a lot more value. Thanks everyone.

I was tryin to figure out what was up with that? As a A100 owner, I wouldn't give a plug nickel for that because it's been butchered. I'd run, not walk away from that one and keep lookin. Good luck

I just read through the whole thing and got what you are talking about on the van. Yeah, no way

What would this be worth if it was an actual A100 in similar shape?

Almost bought this one for my wife last Fall, but my it was in BC and wouldn't fit in my old trailer to haul it home.

Sitting on to of the front wheels combined with the steering wheel position has got to be like driving a bus....just with a better turning radius.

You'd trust your wife in a 50 year old vehicle that has about 1/8 inch sheet metal and nothing else between her and anything the vehicle may hit...that's also had modifications that could affect structural integrity?

To drive to a show 30-minutes away and back home once or twice a month, yes. She takes more of a risk driving in downtown Jacksonville traffic every morning to work in a Toyota RAV4. There is a driver killed nearly every week, two or three weeks ago we had 3-motorcycle fatalities in a 24-hour period. I don't even feel safe in my Ram Power Wagon.

Her legs are the crumple zone.

Same can be said with Jeeps, motorcycles, or nearly any vehicle we drive for pleasure; there are always risks associated with driving that we take every day. If I didn't have my seat belt on twenty years ago, I wouldn't be here today when a driver ran a red light.

We're also looking for an older dodge ram (dxxx series) single cab, tough to find in this area without significant amounts of rust or bondo. If there is one, it's priced well above market value. That's what I would prefer to purchase for her.
