Think I would just need hood and black wheels. Originally a 383 4 speed SB. Now has 496 stroker 6 pak. Doing a dana 60 rear, upgrading brakes from drums to power disk and installing a Borgeson ps.

Sure, it's your car. Do whatever you want with it. It will look great either way. Someone else can always change it later on.

I think it looks better as is, however there is no reason you can't take care of both sets of parts and change it over as you see fit.

Agree but do not store that hood on the pointed corners... The sides are long and flat... The corners bend easy.

I have a car for that hood, shipping would hurt though.

Looks great now. Do you really want to deal with a lift off hood?
Seems like a royal PITA

My vote is to leave it alone. If you want to do anything to it, paint the hood scoops body color.

When I had my new 1969 SuperBee, I had an opportunity to buy an A12 hood for cheap. I figure it had the 5-Finger discount. It cost me more for the hood pins and brackets than I paid for the hood! I did not find it much of a problem removing or reinstalling this hood. I mean, how many times are you going to check your oil or rad? The view from the driver's seat over that huge scoop made it all worthwhile. My car was a RamCharger hood car, so it came with the big air cleaner lid like the 'Bee pictured. The Ford and Chevy guys saw the big cleaner lid through the scoop and figured it was a Six Pack car, and did not mess with me.

Interestingly, the black painted hood scoops were part of a spring option package. Numbers guru's can supply option #.
That is interesting, and something I didn't know. I would then have to retract my previous statement if the op's car was coded for the black scoops....
