My 70 car is supposed to have all the A31 High Performance Axle Package stuff but has this fan. It's wrong, obviously, but appears to have a clutch. Anyone have photos of the correct fan setup.
Second photo is pooling oil near under the filter and dripping off the K member. What's the most common reason for this? No, it's not loose. Time for an oil change and if there's something obvious I can repair when doing it I want to have the parts at the ready.

Thanks in advance for all the wisdom, as always.

How many times have you changed oil in this car? Did you just get it? Must catch the oil when taking off the filter or K frame looks like that.

This will be the first time. But the leaking started after driving it for like an hour. Wasn't this bad when I got it. I would describe it as a significant leakage. Also the oil pressure is like at the max if the gauge is working correctly, which I found odd.

There are o-rings between the pump halves, a gasket and o-ring at pump to block. A sealing washer on the plug at back for pressure relief valve.

Fan 2863216 7 blade clutch. Some have all 7 blades have part number stamped in metal, other have white ink stamp on one blade. 2806070 fan clutch.

Happen to have a diagram on hand I can look at that might have part numbers?

My RS23V0A****** '70 GTX (440 six barrel engine) has the A34 super trac package option.....26" radiator, #2998956, TORQUE DRIVE fan clutch # 2806070, seven (7) blade fan, PS pump oil cooler, 4.10:1 DANA 60 rear, hood to radiator seal. Your pix showe a five (5) blade fan and thermal drive fan clutch (spring on front face). This was MOPAR's after market performance fan package.

Ok let me see if I follow. This is a rebuilt non-original motor, so whoever made it opted to go with an after market performance fan package rather than the original equipment 7 blade max cooling torque drive fan? Which requires the 2806070 clutch and what part number fan?

My concern is is this a downgrade? And if so I want to restore the OEM equipment package. Also because it's cool.

Not a down grade but what was available at the time. My car is an original, one of 350 4 speed cars built (out of 678 built with the six barrel engine). The fan is: # 2863216 aluminum; the water pump sheave is # 2946716. What is your original s/n ? Get yourself an OEM Factory Service Manual and Factory parts Manual.....invaluable.
Haunt the car shows and swap meets for original parts....they're available......Chrysler at Carlisle,.mopar nationals, on line....etc not cheap.....

This look right? Would it have been the same on a 70 SuperBee w/ the A31 package?

Don't put a Fram filter back on it. Get a Wix or Baldwin.

2863216 fan is steel, never aluminum.

The fan and clutch assembly is from a vehicle with A/C. The clutch is a THERMAL DRIVE and NOT THE TORQUE DRIVE clutch used on HP engines....Hemi, 440 six barrel engine, (some 340 engines). The Hemi fan is 18 1/2" diameter and has ALUMINUM air foil shaped blades and is lighter weight than the steel blade fan. BTW....NEVER STORE the clutch unit shaft down position as there is a possibility of the silicon clutch fluid from contaminating the shaft bearing. What is the s/n of your car?

The fan that is presently on the car has ALUMINUM blades (non magnetic and has a mopar partnumber printed on)..not steel....it may have been supercedes during production but it is definitely aluminum and several lbs lighter than steel....less wt equals less hp required for operation.

Did the gasket come off old filter and still on oil pump causing issues?

The fan in the original post looks like the old Mopar Performance viscous fan package. IIRC it had a smaller diameter 5 blade fan and a too long viscous fan clutch. It moved a minimal amount of air and was pretty much worthless for any performance street car.

Yep! I got the number off it today and that's what it is. 4140063 But is that the clutch for it or the torque drive clutch?

Does it have a spring on the side facing the radiator?

I'm going to have to go back with a dental mirror and find out. The car is stored in a friend's garage while my driveway cures. I'm looking at photos of the viscous fan setup and honestly I could be wrong. The clutches look the same from the side and rear. I am reading What happened to Mopar performance Viscous fan kits?
and a lot of guys want these? Why? Think someone has the setup I want and would trade?
