I was wondering if anyone could answer this. A 1969 Plymouth GTX 440 automatic with A32 superperformance package. Would this car have been equipped with a Prestolite dual point?

Nope, single point.

The A32 package is for automatic only, and the distributor is not specified in the package. So it would be the 440 automatic distributor. Do you have a broadcast sheet?

Its a car that my friend is interested in buying. A broadcast sheet hasn't been produced yet. Makes sense what you are saying.

A broadcast sheet doesn't give us any help on the distributor. We're you looking for something else?

If you know the HP of the motor and what carb I can look it up. Prob a dual point.

Pretty sure it is a 3434222 with the large electronic vac solenoid, single point.

Isn't 1970 the first year for that large vac advance? Don't remember seeing that in a 1969 car. And I've seen many. I've got a 69 RT 4 speed and friend has a 69 RT auto and both very original low mile match #'s with regular vac advances.

Yes it was a pollution item with a solenoid on the car. Actually, talked to the guy that designed it. Pretty stupid but they need a few emission reductions that year and that was one of them. Think about it the ignition is off.
