After sitting for a couple years I finally got to working on my 66 D100. The transmission would not shift and is stuck in frwd, low I think. I replaced the frwd and rvs solenoid valves and still have the same problem. How do I unfreeze the the transmission without removing it. Or am I even looking in the right direction. I'm mechanical but no experience with transmissions. I appreciate any assistance.

More than likely the transmission will need to be removed and rebuilt. If stuck in forward, the rear direct clutch is stuck applied, maybe a broken belleville spring?
Not sure if you were trying to reference servos vs solenoids? There are no solenoids or electronics in a 727 transmission.

I meant servo's. It shifted when I parked it. Could I possibly have a valve body problem?

Is that a cable shift transmission? When you say stuck in forward does that mean it also wants to go forward when in reverse? If so and the manual valve is working I would think it has burnt and stuck clutches.

yes, I put on new shift cable and the wheel turns forward no matter what gear I shift to. I guess the clutch is stuck from sitting so long. Guess I'm going to learn how to disassemble clean and reassemble a transmission. Thanks for the help.
