Team,

On the Coronet.....the AC clutch will need a new bearing for sure......but what puller do you recommend? Also.....installer. There are many....and my manual calls for a 5/8 -11 x 2-1/2 cap screw

The cap screw works great, why complicate it?

Tricks to make the job easy... Is the compressor still mounted on the engine? If so energize the clutch so the engine compression keeps the clutch pulley from turning... It'll help both when removing the bolt that secures the clutch & when threading the 5/8 bolt in to remove the clutch..

If the compressor is off the engine a impact will make quick work of things without need for any clutch holding..

You don't need an installer for the clutch to the compressor, a properly sized tube to remove & install the bearing is helpful....

I got the retaining bolt off no problem, but the puller itself.... that’s the bit

The threads for the 5/8 bolt should be staring at ya... As long as you can keep the clutch plate for spinning it'll pop right off... Like I mentioned 12V applied to the blue wire locks the plate to the pulley so you only have to stop the whole pulley from turning...

So just keep it from spinning and get a puller with 5/8 -11 thread in there

Yup, look at the hole where you removed the bolt, it has threads... The bolt presses on the end of the shaft & the clutch pops off pretty easy, the shaft is tapered so as soon as it releases the clutch pops off...

awesome.....and thanks 1 Wild R/T.
