adjusting shift points on 727 trans

ok I'm at a loss. I've searched the web. I am trying to adjust the shift points for my 727 so that I'm not revving so high. 1-2 gear is really screaming. 2-3 is just insane. I think I'm almost red lining the motor when I shift to third. I thought there was supposed to be some sort of linkage from the carb to the transmission... but there's nothing. Nothing behind the accelerator pedal. Is the adjustment for this on the transmission itself ? Or am I missing some vital parts

There is supposed to be kickdown linkage especially on a stock trans. Can you tell us if the trans is stock or not?

FSM will show you pictures and proper adjustment of kickdown linkage.
Do you own a FSM?
Could you show us pictures of your linkage set-up?

I am almost betting there is a cable tie or wire holding the throttle valve lever on transmission all the way back.

If you don't have throttle pressure control linkage (aka kickdown linkage) don't drive the car until you do. You'll cook the clutches.

You also have zero in the manner of kickdown linkage.

Maybe a 2 bbl short bracket on a tall alum intake? Get some kickdown linkage, and a lever adapter for Mopar throttle also. Something is up w your trans; usually no linkage means short shifting. Either way is bad.

This isn't a picture of what your is but its the same idea. number 10 controls trans pressure . That 10 should be all the way back at full throttle.

This is an Edelbrock carb but you should have something that looks similar to this.

Based on that picture I'm surprised the car even runs much less drives. You have a lot of wrong parts and the corrosion has got to be causing issues everywhere.

Get underneath and look at the driver side of the transmission. There's a lever for the gearshift selector and the kickdown lever is on top of it. See if it's tied back (or even on there!) That's where you've gotta get the kickdown linkage or cable to.

Nooooo... You need to get a kick down linkage on there, or one of those cable. What you have there, is a disaster, in the making....
